Wynn Casino Resort

Wynn Resorts made history in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 4, 2024, by obtaining the country’s first commercial land-based casino gaming license. The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) granted Wynn this license, marking a significant milestone for the UAE’s gaming and hospitality industries.

Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort Underway

Wynn Resorts is constructing the Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), UAE. The project is a joint venture involving Wynn Resorts, Marjan, and RAK Hospitality Holding. The new resort aims to boost tourism and business in RAK, a lesser-known emirate in the UAE.

In a statement released on October 4, Wynn Resorts expressed its excitement about contributing to the region’s tourism economy. The company also thanked the GCGRA for its trust and confidence in awarding the license.

MGM Resorts Competes for UAE License

MGM Resorts, another global leader in luxury hospitality, is also considering entering the UAE market. MGM’s CEO, Bill Hornbuckle, announced during the Skift Global Forum in New York City that the company filed for a license on September 19. MGM’s proposed project would be located in Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s capital.

The collaboration is expected to positively impact the local economy and raise the standards of hospitality in the region.

“We are thrilled to partner with Wynn Resorts, a global leader in integrated resorts. Their track record in creating luxury destinations is outstanding,” Al Abdooli said. He emphasized that the new development will attract tourists and business travelers to RAK, further contributing to the region’s growth.

A New Era for UAE Hospitality
